UPDASP (phase I)

Western Uttar Pradesh (Badaun and Shahjahanpur)

5 FPOs | 1500 farmers 

The three-fold objectives of these projects are:


1. Promoting Non-Pesticide Management (NPM) and organic farming

2. Strengthening FPOs through market, finance, and technology linkages

3. Establish FPOs as sustainable business enterprises

  • 154 vermi compost units have been promoted.
  • Around 1,800 farmers have been trained in NPM and organic farming. 
  • All 5 FPOs have their own agri-input retail counters and are engaged in output business with Ayekart, ITC, Dehaat, and Farmart.

UPDASP (phase II)

Western Uttar Pradesh (Badaun and Shahjahanpur)

14 FPOs | 4200 farmers 

  • 112 vermi compost units have been promoted.
  • Close to 2,400 farmers have been trained in NPM and organic farming.
  • Inputs and outputs worth INR 35 lakhs have been sold. 
  • 8 FPOs have their own agri-input retail counters and are engaged in output business with Dehaat and Farmart.

SIMA

Eastern Uttar Pradesh (Basti and Balrampur)

8 FPOs | 2400 farmers 

  • 67 vermi compost units have been promoted.
  • Close to 900 farmers have been trained in NPM and organic farming. 
  • 6 FPOs have obtained the required agri input licenses.
  • 2 FPOs have established their agri-input retail counters.

 

Under UPDASP and SIMA, Grameen is being empaneled as a Cluster-Based Business Organization (CBBO) for forming and promoting FPOs under the Central Sector Scheme for the formation & promotion of 10,000 FPOs.  Grameen has been allotted 5 FPOs under this project, 4 in Badaun and 1 in Shahjahanpur (districts of western Uttar Pradesh) as part of UPDASP phase I.

Additionally, there are 7 FPOs in Budaun and 7 FPOs in Shahjahanpur under UPDASP Phase II, within the framework of the Self-Reliant Farmer Integrated Development Scheme by the Uttar Pradesh State Government. Moreover, 5 FPOs in Balrampur and 3 in Basti have been allocated under SIMA, also under the Self-Reliant Farmer Integrated Development Scheme by the Uttar Pradesh State Government.
